The task for our lab was to determine the density of water and compare our recordings to the actual density of water listed in our lab packet. Then we were to find the density of an unknown liquid and find out what the substance was by matching its density with densities of substances listed in our packet. In order to find the density of water, one must know its mass and volume first. The rubber stopper was needed to insure no water would evaporate from the flask. This mass was recorded.

The Erlenmyer flask was then filled with about 30 mL of deionized water dispensed from a buret. The flask and rubber stopper were reweighed, and the difference between the intial and final masses was the mass of the water.

In order to find the volume of the water, I took note of the starting point of the water in the buret, then took note of the ending point of the water after about 30 mL were into the flask.

That difference was the volume of water emptied into the flask. This process was performed three times in order to eliminate any error. In order to find the mass of the water and unknown, a simple subtraction problem was used.

I simply subtracted the mass of the empty flask and rubber stopper from the mass of the full flask and rubber stopper. A sample equation would be This same method was used to find the volume of water in the flask. I subtracted the intial amount of liquid in the buret from the final amount of liquid in the buret. This difference was how much liquid was dispensed.

An example would be In order to find the density, I simply divided the mass found by the volume found. To find the average density, I added the three densities I found, then divided that total by three to find the average. The equation for the water was 0. Precision was found by taking the absolute value of the highest density minus the lowest density, dividing that difference by the average density, and then multiplying that answer by For example, the precision for the water was found by this equation: This gave me an answer of Finally to find the error, I found the absoulte value of my measured density minus the actual density.

Get red and grey testtubes from "testtube stand" on middle counter and heat up red testtube with burner right next to it.. Pour all three testtubes in structure on the far left of the back countertop, going blue, red, then yellow.. Pick up key that appears.. Unlock cabinet under dripping sink. Unlock cabinet in front, second from the left. Pick up blue sheet.. Fill up empty beaker with burrette on front counter on far left.. Open recycle bin and retrieve glass rod from it..

Click on blue sheet, and beaker that you just filled up and place it next to blue sheet. Using glass rod, get a drop of solution from inside the beaker and drip it on blue sheet in places that will accept.

At the end, the blue sheet should read "Ne o n" in red letters.. Look on periodic table in very front and look for those symbols. They are Ne 10 , O, which is oxygen, 8, and N which is nitrogen, Input code "" on door to exit and you're done.

What determines what color puppies a lab will have? Like with everything else, it's hereditary. Remember back in middle school and early high school when you had to do punnet squares? You can do a few of those, and find the chances of the puppies being a certain color. Remeber there are dominant and recessive colors. What is a chem 8 lab test for?

What is a Chem 13 lab test for?

They did another CBC test,chem13test,gave me two shots, and far me to come back the next Day's far a gallbladder test, cbc test,TOLD ME it wasn't my gallbladder they told me to come again the next day far a test where they put die in me and run me through a machine far testing come back to the office so I did they told me to finished the antibiotics that I was on and gave me a pain med told me to not to eat anything just stay on liquids and stay in bed they did tell me that the test that i took that day show that my bowels was twisted.

They told me really nothing when my daughter ask him far more information about this he ask her if she had ever bowed a ball up and twisted it that was the same thing, and told me that i could go back to work in six days. Im still hurting but not as bad but i now have burning feeling and some pain. So I'm trying to finger out what all the test where and just maybe i can make up my mind as to what to do.

What does 5c stand for? The Iphone 5C is Iphone 5Colorful 5c can also stand for thenumber "c" is the Roman numeral for or for 5 degreesCelsius centigrade. For a start you do not mix Arabic and Roman numeralslike that - it would be nonsensical. What lab equipment is needed to determine the density of an irregular shape? You do not need fancy lab equipment. What are the Answers for my reading lab? Animal Heroes Jo Ann Altsman and her husband, Jack, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, had given their daughter a Vietnamese potbellied pig as a gift, but it seemed their daughter didn't really want it.

After asking her parents to pig-sit while she went out of town, she never picked it up. So Jo Ann took in the pig, named LuLu, as her own. One morning Jo Ann collapsed onto the floor. She had had a heart attack. She was not unconscious, though, and was able to yell for help.

She looked at Jo Ann and started to cry, Jo Ann reports. Jo Ann says LuLu produced tears and made crying sounds. Next the pig pushed out through the little door the Altsmans had created just for LuLu and the family dog. The door was a little too small for LuLu, and she cut her belly on the way out.

Then, even though she had never left the yard on her own before, she somehow managed to push the gate open. She trotted out to the street. There LuLu waited for cars. When a car came by, she lay down in the street with her legs up in the air. The first person who drove by was afraid to get out of the car. But the next driver stopped, thinking that the pig was injured and needed help.

To his surprise, LuLu got up and led the man to the house to Jo Ann. The driver telephoned for help. When the paramedics arrived in just a few minutes, LuLu tried to get into the ambulance with Jo Ann. The paramedics shooed her away gently. Thanks to LuLu, the story had a happy ending. Jo Ann got to the hospital in time and had heart surgery. Doctors say that if only 15 more minutes had passed, she likely would have died.

LuLu was rewarded with a jelly donut by Jo Ann. Determine the density for an object that has a mass of 2. That's not a question, that's a demand. So I'll tell you how to. Density is mass divided by volume.

9/10/ Introduction. In the density lab we had four main objectives to complete, they were: 1. Learn about intensive and extensive properties 2. Determine the density of regularly-shaped objects 3. Determine the density of irregularly-shaped objects 4. Determine the density of 5/5(3).

Lab 1 - Density Determinations and Various Methods to Measure Volume In this experiment, you will measure masses and volumes to determine density. Four different metal cylinders are investigated. In parts , three different methods are used to find volume of two solid metal cylinders (Al and brass). Determining the Density of an Unknown Substance (Lab Report) The task for our lab was to determine the density of water and compare our recordings to the actual density of water listed in our lab packet. / g/mL x This gave me an answer of ppt (parts per thousand). Finally to find the error, I found the absoulte.

Density can be calculated directly by dividing the mass of an object by its volume. Using the mass and volume measurements recorded in the Data Table, calculate the density for each sample, the average density, and the difference between each density value and the average value. Record the volume of the water on your answer sheet to the nearest ml. Then pour the water in the sink. Figure F Reading liquid volume. Ledermann DENSITY DETERMINATION: ANALYSIS Using the formula in the introduction of this lab, calculate the percentage error, for Part A of your results. The theoretical density is g/ml.
